Women of the Word

The Bible is God's Word and we believe it to be true.  God desires for every believer to be in His Word daily and to apply His truth to our lives.  It is our goal that every women be involved in studying God's Word and she be surrounded by other women who are learning what it means to have passion for our Lord.  Women of the Word offers women the opportunity to fellowship with others and to study God's Word on a weekly basis.

Key Verse

"All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Women of Hope

Women of Hope, part of Women’s Ministry here at FBC O’Fallon, has a new avenue of hope for women in crisis.  Two counselors are offering their services (without charge) to women in need of support or encouragement.  Confidentiality will be protected.

In addition to counseling services, support groups are being formed.  Currently groups for those struggling with chronic illness and for those in difficult marriages are planned.  In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, we are told to comfort others with the comfort we have received from God.  This is our desire and aim.

Women's Ministry is developing small support groups, five or less, according to need in the areas of marriage, post abortion trauma, addictions, and abuse.  For more information, please call Judy Huffman.  (In order to protect confidentiality, no lists will be made.)

Key Verse

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves
those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalm 34:18 [NIV]

Women on a Mission

Together, as disciples for Christ, we desire to inform and inspire women to influence their world for Christ.  In James 1:22 God tells us "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what is says."  We believe, through prayer and participation in mission opportunities, women will be able to serve God by applying His Word and following His commands.

Key Verse

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ands of the earth."
Acts 1:8 [NIV]
